While cleaning up our annual Fireman's fair this morning one of our members grabbed me to tell me he watched a Cicada molt out of its shell and had left it on top of some Peaches we were tossing out. I had him hold it up for a few quick snaps with the 18-200 since I didn't have my macro lens, but they turned out pretty neat I think!

I didn't think to grab a shot of the old skin. But this guy was a LOT more colorful than any other Cicada I've seen around here, apparently they get dusted up quite quickly but when in their birthday suit they look really cool.
