It is bittersweet that one of my favorite pictures from last year is also one that carries a sad ending with it. Chief Wankel was laid to rest this AM in what I hear was a very moving ceremony (I attended the viewing last night and it was MOBBED with hundreds who braved the cold just to pay their respects). He was an amazing, funny and terrifically skilled person, and all who knew him will surely already be missing him. /salute
