Dolphin or Whale?

Saw this guy breach on the ride from Highlands to Wall Street Pier 11 Seastreak, I thought it was a whale but now I think it was 'just' a dolphin.

After not having a camcorder for over 10 years (My last one was a Prosumer Panasonic that shot SVHS!!!) I finally got a new one, and this one is a real monster! This is Sony's new HD Camcorder, the HDR-XR500V, not quite the top of the line consumer camcorder but damn close, only missing out on some hard drive space compared to their ultimate. Battery is charging now, will post thoughts on it as I can, and will post full size videos on my SmugMug account at E Aho Laula

Ryan's Blue and Gold dinner was held yesterday at Bella's in Atlantic Highlands. He took 2nd place in the Pinewood Derby for his den and got his trophy as well as a few other awards. Way to go Ry!

The Buzzard Peak

Closest I've been able to come to our flock of Turkey Vultures / Buzzards. Normally these guys have been very skittish, but today they were down ruling the roost they made out of my parent's neighbor's side yard. The Nikon 70-300 was the perfect lens for this, was able to get pretty close and snagged a few sharp shots with minimal depth of field. I think I see just a touch of Purple Fringing tho!
